Jay McLelland is the Head Golf Professional at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club. In his previous tenure, he was the Head Golf Professional at Crystal Falls Golf Club, a Public 18-Hole course owned by the City Of Leander, Texas. It is a high-volume golf facility, totaling 54,000 rounds per year. Before Crystal Falls, Jay was employed at The Hills Country Club in Austin, TX as their Director of Golf Instruction. The Hills is a private course with 72 holes and 1,500 members. Jay's main mission is to help improve the enjoyment of the game for all members. Prior to that tenure, he served as the Director of Golf at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, AL for 18 years prior to 2022. Jay's 33 years of experience as a PGA professional in the golf business has provided many opportunities to be a part of a number of successful operations - Primarily centering his focus around providing exceptional member experiences, building lasting relationships, and developing the future generations of golfers.
The Junior Development programs that Jay ran during his time at Valley Hill Country Club saw ample success, specifically in the PGA Junior League. His team won the Alabama-North Florida section 8 years in a row and attended the National Tournament in 2016. The work he has done with those juniors has helped over a dozen kids receive college golf scholarships. In 2018 and 2019, he received an award and recognition from the Alabama PGA Section as their Player Development Professional of the Year. Prior to spending his time developing others, Jay played in a number of PGA Tour events, including: Freedmont McDermont Classic & Depoist Guaranty Classic in 95’, FedEx St. Jude Classic in 96’ and many other Korn Ferry Tour events from 92’-98’. Jay's goal is to bring that same culture of development to Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club.
