Why does my ball curve to the right?
Our Experts answer:
To fix a slice :
1- Be sure the club is in the fingers. Both V's pointing at right collarbone .
2- Feel the right palm face the GROUND going back... For all slicers fan it open going away.
3- Picture a top spinning forehand motion in tennis. The right forearm rolls over the left coming down . To feel this sensation, sit in a chair with a driver in hand . Make some 1/2 speed motions . The only way you will be able to follow through is if the forearms roll over coming down. Welcome to the world of a draw!
To swing with power AND balance:
The application of speed is the critical factor. All of us apply it in the wrong spot . Here is a drill that will provide the proper sensation. Take your driver , and grab it by the HEAD end of the shaft. Now make some swings, and make it swoosh on the TARGET side of the ball. Your ears will teach your brain where max speed occurs. This drill will also eliminate topping, and fat shots since it will force the low point AHEAD of the ball. You have just felt the much written about, and often confusing, concept of lag.
