Shelby Tucci, a Midland, TX native, has been swinging a golf club since he was 5 years old. Although golf was not his first career path, it remained a dream with in his life; he was able to make this dream a reality in 2020 by being appointed as the Head Golf Professional at Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club.
Prior to becoming a Golf Professional, Shelby served 8 years in the United States Navy as the Lead Trumpet Instrumentalist. The Navy afforded him the opportunity to see many beautiful parts of the world; and surprisingly, allowed him to realize his desire to work in the Golf Industry. While stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shelby competed and won a spot to play alongside Billy Hurley III in the Sony Open Pro-Am Tournament. This experience remains one of his favorite memories of his time in the Aloha State, and a sign that golf, his dream, is what he desired to return to. In 2014, Shelby made the decision to leave the Navy and enroll in the Professional Golf Management program at Mississippi State University, where he graduated in 2018. Throughout his tenure at Mississippi State, Shelby competed on the Heritage Cup team and won “Player of the Semester” in 2016. After graduation Shelby and his family lived in Little Rock, AR where he served as the Assistant Golf Professional at Chenal Country Club before becoming a Golf Sales Representative. After being a Golf Sales Representative for some time, Shelby realized his true passion lied in Green Grass facilities and the experiences with in them. With this in mind Shelby accepted the position at Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club to serve as the Head Golf Professional. Shelby genuinely enjoys interacting with members and making sure their experience is outstanding anytime they step foot on the property. Shelby and his wife Miranda have three children: Tristan, Kate, and Harper. When he’s not working at the club, Shelby enjoys playing golf, reading, outdoor activities, and watching college sports with his family. |
